What Kiwi employers must record
Section 130 of the Employment Relations Act 2000 and the Holidays Act 2003 require employers to keep a wages and time record for six years. A payslip is the readable extract most employees see — banks and landlords expect the same layout when they ask for proof of income.
- Employee name and IRD number
- Pay period, hours worked, and gross earnings
- PAYE tax deducted (per the tax code — M, ME, S, SB, ST, SH, etc.)
- ACC earner levy
- KiwiSaver employee contribution + employer contribution (ESCT-adjusted)
- Net pay and holiday-pay accrual
Tax codes NZ generators must handle
The tax code drives how PAYE is calculated. StubGenPro supports M, ME, SB, S, ST, SH, and secondary-income codes (SB, S, SH, ST) plus the special codes ND (no notification) and WT (schedular).
What NZ lenders look for
ANZ, ASB, BNZ, Westpac, and Kiwibank all want at least the two most recent payslips plus bank statements showing the same net-pay deposits. Property managers usually ask for three.
